This is the second volume of music combining jazz, blues and spirituals and featuring Gregg Stafford’s trumpet with Dr Michael White’s clarinet. These three styles are the essence of the tradition black music and the heart of New Orleans jazz. Of the six musicians on this disc, two are black and they are steeped in the musical heritage of their beloved city. The other four are white and hail from the US, Canada and England. They too have spent their lives studying and playing New Orleans Jazz. For them to record in New Orleans with authentic New Orleans musicians like Stafford and White is a career pinnacle and they have all risen to the challenge. This is six jazzmen doing their thing!
