Music from the Disney/Pixar film Soul, on vinyl LP!
Music written and performed by Grammy nominee Jon Batiste
The jazz songs in upcoming Pixar film, Soul, were written and performed by Jon Batiste. Best known for being the bandleader on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, he also served as a cultural consultant for the movie.
“This film has a lot of light in it,” Batiste says. “It’s a lot of light and life force energy, I like to call it…was really the beginning of me figuring out my way into the jazz music in the film. Finding the spiritual tone.”
A musician who has lost his passion for music is transported out of his body and must find his way back with the help of an infant soul learning about herself. Featuring the voice talent of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Questlove, Daveed Diggs and more. Music from and inspired by Disney Pixar Soul is composed by Jon Batiste.
