Notes
Lee Dorsey, a true icon of the Louisiana music scene, invites you to embrace the spirit and sound of New Orleans rhythm and blues. Perhaps no musician of the rock and roll era personified the city’s spirit with more charm than Dorsey, whose ability to effortlessly infuse his endearing soul into every note he sang made him an instant favorite amongst fans, musicians, and collaborators. Through his close working relationships with the most prolific musicians and producers of the time, including Allen Toussaint and Marshal Sehorn, Lee combined his uncomplicated charm and easygoing delivery to take the pop music charts of the 1960s by storm with a series of instantly memorable hits such as “Ya Ya,” “Working in the Coal Mine,” and “Ride Your Pony.”
