Notes
This album was originally released in 1976 and has long been recognized as an iconic classic. As an underground illustrator, Robert Crumb is a legendary figure in pop culture. He is also an accomplished musician who, together with his Cheap Suit Serenaders band, has entertained fans for decades. The group’s mixture of old popular numbers, traditional American classics, and humorous new compositions presents a delightful program of music as totally unique in its own way as Crumb’s brilliant comics are. Crumb’s bandmates include multi-instrumental wizards Robert Armstrong and Allan Dodge, and now famous Hollywood director Terry Zwigoff.
